:: Presentations ::

Julie Juergens and Catey Peters spoke at the 10th Annual Northern Ohio Labor and Employment Conference sponsored by the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association on June 24, 2010. Julie presented "The Impact of Gross v. FBL Fin. Servs. on State and Federal
Employment Litigation
," and Catey presented a one hour CLE presentation on Professionalism.

Monica Sansalone served on the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association's June 9, 2010 panel entitled, "Professionalism: Now & In The Future."

Tim Fitzgerald spoke at the Ohio State Bar Association's Appellate Practice seminar on April 18, 2010. Tim's topic was "Appeals in Federal Court" which outlined how appellate practice differs in state and federal court.

John Travis spoke at the Annual Presidents Day Municipal Law Seminar sponsored by the Cuyahoga County Law Director's Association and the Government Law Section of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association on February 11, 2010. John's topic was "Defending Section 1983 Actions".

Joe Pappalardo spoke at the Transportation Lawyers Association Regional Meeting in Chicago on January 22, 2010. Joe spoke on "Emerging Evidentiary Issues in Trucking Litigation: Preventability Analysis, SafeState and CSA2010".


:: 26th Annual Spring Seminar ::

Gallagher Sharp's Twenty-Sixth Annual Spring Legal Seminar was held on Friday, June 11, 2010, at the Embassy Suites in Independence. Over 200 attendees heard presentations on Social Networking, Judicial Ethics, Subrogation, Bankruptcy, and an update of recent Appellate decisions. We were honored to have as our guest speaker the Hon. Melody Stewart of the Court of Appeals for the Eighth Appellate District, who gave an interesting and informative presentation on the appellate process.

Our newest attorney Mark Thompson. Welcome to the Ohio Bar.

Joe Pappalardo on his appointment as General Counsel of the Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA).

Alan Petrov who has been appointed to the Commission on Certification of Attorneys as Specialists, Supreme Court of Ohio.

Marie Haessly who has successfully completed the Ohio State Bar Association Paralegal Certification Process and is now an OSBA Certified Paralegal.

Tim Fitzgerald who has been appointed to serve on the 12-member Ohio State Bar Association Appellate Law Specialty Board.

Deborah Yue who was elected to serve as a Trustee of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association.


:: New Partner Teri Richthammer ::

Gallagher Sharp is pleased to announce new partner Teri Richthammer. Teri joined Gallagher Sharp as an Associate in 2003 and is active in the firm's Professional Liability Practice Group. She defends professional negligence claims, primarily focusing on attorney and physician malpractice, and errors and omissions by real estate agents. Prior to joining Gallagher Sharp she served as a Staff Attorney to the Honorable Janet R. Burnside, Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. She is a 1997, magna cum laude, graduate of Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and a 1994 graduate of Michigan State University. She currently serves on the Litigation Section Council of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association.




:: Litigation Council Fellow Sheila McKeon ::

Gallagher Sharp's Sheila McKeon has been selected to be a Fellow of the Litigation Council of America, an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society established to reflect the new face of the American bar. Membership is limited to 3,500 Fellows, representing less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. The composition of the LCA is aggressively diverse, with recognition of excellence among American litigation and trial counsel across all segments of the bar.
